Masashi Sato
Born in 1981 in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, he is a trail runner and massage therapist.
He began participating in trail running races at the age of 40. In 2021, he completed his first 100-mile race at OSJ Koumi. The following year, he achieved notable results in Japan's most challenging mountain races, finishing 6th overall (2nd in his age group) at the Trenick World Sainokuni 100 Mile 2022 and 10th overall at Lake Biwa 100 2022. Despite being a late bloomer, he has proven himself as a top-level trail runner in the domestic mountain running scene.
Additionally, he has over 20,000 sessions of experience as a massage therapist, bringing expertise in both endurance and recovery. His guiding principle is to push hard early and maintain resilience without burning out.
